Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is an operation frequently applied for the correction of eye lids, where ptosis, bags and wrinkles have occurred.

In upper eyelid operations, an incision is made in the fold line, and then the excess skin and fatty tissue are removed.

And in lower eyelid operations, the excess skin and fatty tissue are shaped to obtain an aesthetic appearance, with the incisions made under and insides the eyelashes.

Blepharoplasty operations are usually combined with botox, with intent to eliminate the wrinkles that occur around the eyes.

– Blepharoplasty operations usually take 1 to 1.5 hours.

In a typical blepharoplasty operation, the doctor makes incisions following the natural lines of your eye lids. Such incisions between the folds of the upper eyelids are made from immediately below the eyelashes in the lower eyelids. No visible scars remain after the intervention.

At the end of the operation, your doctor places sticking plasters on the sutures. After the operation, you feel some tension and pain in your eyelids. It will be possible to control this pain with mild analgesics.

Within the first few weeks after the operation, you may experience temporary changes such as getting watery eyes or sensitivity to light.

The sutures will be removed in a period beginning from the second day and may last a week. After removal of the sutures, the visible swelling and bruising around the eyes will gradually decrease.
